Efforts for Varosha issue to be discussed at the European Parliament underway
CNA - Evie Mitsidou Phillips - France/STRASBOURG 17/09/2019 20:33

Efforts are underway by Cypriot MEPs for developments regarding the fenced-off part of Turkish occupied Famagusta, known as Varosha, to be discussed at European Parliament level.

These efforts, have so far not been successful, due to the fact that an effort is underway for the resumption of Cyprus reunification talks, sources have said.

It is likely that the EPP may put the matter forward for discussion at the next European Parliament “mini” plenary, expected to take place in Brussels, in October.
