More travellers arrived in Cyprus in August

The number of travellers arriving in Cyprus in August this year was up by 1.7% reaching 745,277 compared to 733,078 in August 2018, which is mainly due to an increase in tourist arrivals by 3.6%.

According to Cyprus Statistical Service data released on Friday during the period of January - August 2019 travellers arrivals came to 3,930,874 compared to 3,805,187 during the same period of 2018, recording an increase of 3.3%.

Tourist arrivals were up by 0.6% while Cypriot residents returning home were up by 8.5% during that period.

An increase of 1.7% was recorded on the departures of travellers from the island in August 2019  compared to August last year, as well as an increase of 3.4% during the period of January - August 2019 on annual basis.
