Trade deficit drops in July

Cyprus’ trade deficit dropped slightly in July to €486.4 mn from €499.6 mn in the same month last year.
 
The Statistical Service announced on Wednesday that in July 2019 total imports fell to €733,9 mn compared with €859,6 mn in July 2018. Total exports, including stores and provisions, in July 2019 decreased to €247,5 mn from €360,0 mn in the same month of 2018.
 
Exports of domestically produced goods, including stores and provisions in July 2019 were €135,4 mn compared with €187,2 mn in July 2018 whilst exports of foreign goods, including stores and provisions, in July 2019 were €112,1 mn compared with €172,8 mn in July 2018. Total domestic exports of industrial products in July 2019 were €127,2 mn compared with €178,5 mn in July 2018. Total domestic exports of agricultural products in July 2019 rose to €6,1 mn compared with €5,7 mn in July 2018.
