Cyprus` House of Representatives commemorated on Friday the Anti-fascist Victory, denounced neofascist and neonazi movements in Europe and rejected every effort to distort historic events of the Second World War, calling on the State to implement UN General Assembly Resolution of December 18, 2019 and  Resolution 2011/2014 of the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, in the framework of the overall effort aiming to highlight the historic memory of the Second World War.
 
The relevant draft resolution was submitted before the House plenary by left-wing AKEL party, socialist party EDEK and the Alliance of Citizens party and was approved with 47 votes in favour and two abstentions by the National Popular Front (ELAM).
