Interior Ministers of Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Malta and Italy hold video conference on migration crisis

Interior Minister Nicos Nouris has proposed a series of changes to be made to the new EU migration policy to be adopted during the German presidency of the Council of the EU, during video conference he held with his counterparts from Greece, Spain, Malta and Italy.

A press release by the Interior Ministry says that Nouris briefed his counterparts on the migration issue in Cyprus and the increasing flows and told them that the government will be adopting changes on asylum seekers` applications pointing out  the challenges our country is faced with as regards the demographic issue and the economic dimension.

He spoke of the arrival of migrants who have a criminal profile and the increasing cases of criminal behavior especially in ghetto areas.
