Study shows 42 patients with Huntington's disease, 22 gene carriers in Cyprus

An epidemiological study in Cyprus carried out in 2015 shows that 42 patients suffer from Huntington`s disease while 22 people are asymptomatic carriers of the Huntington`s gene.

A press release by the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics says that as the disease progresses, the patients gradually experience problems walking and have to use a handicapped chair . At the same time, they have difficulties eating and talking and they need to be attended to by a specialized scientific team.
