German Ambassador hopes November 1989 spirit to inspire trilateral meeting in Berlin
CNA - Antonios Gkildakis - CYPRUS/Nicosia 08/11/2019 15:53

The highly symbolic fall of the Berlin wall changed Europe, says Franz Josef Kremp, the German Ambassador to Cyprus, and expresses hope that the spirit of November 1989 will inspire the upcoming informal trilateral meeting on Cyprus, taking place later this month in the German capital.
In a statement to CNA, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Ambassador notes that the 1989 events also opened the way for EU enlargement, bringing Germany and Cyprus closer to each other.
Referring to the November 9 events, Ambassador Kremp says that it was a “goose-flesh” moment which no German or any other person watching from around the world will ever forget.
