Italy pledges to continue supporting the dialogue for a Cyprus solution
CNA - CYPRUS/Nicosia 08/02/2018 14:32

Italy’s President, Sergio Mattarella, in a congratulatory message to re-elected President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, pledges his country’s determination to continue supporting the dialogue for a Cyprus settlement.

Congratulating Anastasiades, Matarella notes that Italy and Cyprus are jointly following a Mediterranean policy that centres on peace, security, stability and promoting social and economic development of countries that border with the common sea.

This commitment, he adds, is dynamically depicted through the meeting of the Mediterranean countries of Europe that was held in Rome a few weeks ago and complements the effort Nicosia and Rome are asked to develop with other EU partners, for the clear implementation of the principles of the Rome Declaration.
