Trade deficit estimated at €271,6 mn in January

The trade deficit is projected to be €271,6 mn in the first month of the year, based on preliminary estimates of the Statistical Service of Cyprus.
 
Figures released on Thursday showed that total imports were €803,6 mn as compared to €621,9 mn in January 2018. Imports from other EU Member States in January 2019 were €363,3 mn as compared to €382,8 mn in January 2018. Imports from Third Countries in January 2019 were €440,3 mn as compared to €239,0 mn in January 2018.
 
Total exports in January 2019 were €532,0 mn as compared to €205,5 mn in January 2018. Exports to other EU Member States in January 2019 were €437,4 mn as compared to €89,5 mn in January 2018. Exports to Third Countries in January 2019 were €94,6 mn as compared to €116,0 mn in January 2018.
