Cyprus Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Christodoulides and the EU chief negotiator for Brexit Michel Barnier said the approval of the withdrawal agreement is the only way to secure the UK’s orderly exit from the EU, noting however that the EU and Cyprus are preparing for a no-deal exit.
 
Christodoulides and Barnier discussed the situation over Brexit also discussed the future of some 11,000 Cypriots living in the two British Sovereign Base Areas (SBA) in Cyprus, post-Brexit, with the French chief negotiator stressing the aim is not to disrupt the lives of the Cypriots living in the SBA areas.
