Average price for electricity for non-household consumers in the EU at €11.5 per 100 kWh in 2018

The average price for electricity for non-household consumers in the European Union (EU), calculated excluding VAT and other recoverable taxes and levies, was around €11.5 per 100 kWh in the second half of 2018. It has increased around 2.8% on average between the second half of 2017 and the second half of 2018 and about 13.2% over the last decade, according to Eurostat, the statistical service of the EU.

On average, in the EU, non-household natural gas prices, excluding VAT and other recoverable taxes and levies, grew to €3.1 per 100 kWh (+ 11.0%) between the second halves of 2017 and 2018. Contrary to electricity prices, the price of non-household natural gas fell by 20.4% over the last decade.
