The number of farms with animals infected with foot-and-mouth disease in Larnaca and Nicosia stands at 105, according to Tuesday's update from the Veterinary Services. Sotiria Georgiadou, spokesperson for the Veterinary Services on FMD, also said that “the virus has begun to subside and the vaccine is working” while briefing the media, in Nicosia. A decision over the fate of rare animal breeds, affected with FMD, is expected this week, she added.
