Cyprus Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Maria Christofidou, said that a number of citizens received campaign messages from parliamentary candidates via SMS and messaging applications such as Viber, WhatsApp and Messenger, noting however that such communication is not covered by the 48-hour pre-election ban.
