Meaningful progress towards talks resumption needed before positive steps on EU-Turkey relations, President says

Meaningful progress on the Cyprus issue, aimed at resuming negotiations on the basis of the agreed framework, must be achieved before any positive steps regarding EU–Turkey relations can be considered, President Nikos Christodoulides said on Wednesday, in response to journalists’ questions during a press conference following the conclusion of the Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
