Recently completed archaeological research suggested the existence of a sanctuary and a settlement at the Peristerona River valley, Nicosia district. On the 23rd of September 2026 the field season of the “Life at the Furnace” project was completed, co-directed by Dr. Kristina Winther-Jacobsen (University of Copenhagen) and Dr. Angus Graham (Uppsala University), in collaboration with the Cyprus Institute.
