The excavation of a fortress buried under the tumulus of Laona in Palaepaphos (Kouklia village) and dates back to the Cypro-Classical period was the focus of the Archeology Research Unit of the University of Cyprus (UCy) this year, aiming to uncover and highlight the fortress at a height of about 3 metres, so that its digital mapping can be carried out by the Polytechnic University of Milan.
