An important Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Rome between Cyprus and Italy, marking a decisive step in the joint effort to combat clandestine excavations and the illicit trafficking of antiquities, while further strengthening cultural cooperation between the two countries, a press release issued by Cyprus's Deputy Ministry of Culture said.
