Less than 12% of farmers in the EU are under 40 years old, while in Cyprus the average age of farmers is over 60 years, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Permanent Secretary Andreas Gregoriou told an informal EU Council in Warsaw, on Tuesday, expressing concern and pointing out that generational renewal is of crucial importance.
