President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides has assured that the issue of checkpoints, and particularly the opening of the Pyroi crossing, will be raised during the expanded meeting on Cyprus in New York next week. The President was speaking on Monday during a meeting at the Presidential Palace with a delegation from the Committee of municipalities that are located next to the ceasefire line and Semi-Occupied Municipalities. The meeting was also attended by Minister of the Interior, Constantinos Ioannou, and covered housing plans for remote areas and other local issues.
