The new, ambitious research programme called ARIADNE, coordinated by the Cyprus Institute, attempts to shed light on the lesser-known but critical factor of climate change in the Eastern Mediterranean, the absorbing aerosols, microscopic particles that retain heat and directly contribute to the overheating of the region, according to a press release from the Institute.
