A small pile of garbage near the roadside appears to have been the starting point of a fire on Friday in Omodos village in mountainous Limassol region, Fire Service spokesperson Andreas Kettis told CNA, noting that firefighting forces remain on standby in the area. He also made a strong appeal to the public to be “very careful” as a fire can start very easily due to the very high temperatures.
