There have been no cases of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the areas under the control of the Republic, the Agriculture Ministry’s Veterinary Services told the Cyprus News Agency on Thursday, noting that the appropriate preventive measures are being taken. A team of experts from the EU Veterinary Emergency Team of the Commission is due to arrive for an on-site review, possibly within the week, after an FMD incident was reported in the Turkish-occupied areas of Cyprus.
