Bioeconomy currently generates up to €2.7 trillion and employs 17.1 million people in the EU, yet much of its potential remains untapped, according to the European Commission’s European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) that estimates that, with the right support, the EU bioeconomy could grow 18% per year.
