According to the latest Eurostat data for 2024, 9.2% of the population of the European Union was unable to keep their home adequately warm during the year, a figure that represents an improvement of 1.4 percentage points compared with 2023. Greece and Bulgaria rank first in energy poverty, while at the same time, 14.6% of residents in Cyprus reported that they were unable to keep their home adequately warm — a percentage higher than the EU average.
