For the first time since 2014, when the definition of Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) was harmonised across the European Union (EU), the NPL ratio in Cyprus has fallen below the corresponding EU average at the end of December 2025, at 1.6%, according to data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus on Wednesday.
