The European Union Commissioner for Health, Oliver Várhelyi, met with the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment of Cyprus, Maria Panayiotou, in Brussels, stressing that the rapid containment of the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak and support for farmers are top priorities.
