The Fire Service announced today an increase in the total number of fires by 6.51% compared to the previous year, as well as an approximate financial damage from the fires estimated by the Fire Service, which for 2025 amount to €134,576,665, mainly due to the fire in the mountainous area of Limassol, while emphasizing that over 94% of fires are due to human factors and human activities. The burned area of the countryside in 2025 amounted to 133.46 square kilometers, an increase of 116.99 square kilometers compared to 2024.
