The need of the European Union to gain its energy independence was highlighted by the Cypriot Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry, Michael Damianos, and the European Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jørgensen, on Tuesday afternoon, at a press conference via zoom following the Extraordinary Informal Meeting of EU Energy Ministers, in Nicosia, in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
