Cyprus is among the 25 countries facing extremely high water stress each year, the World Resources Institute (WRI) said in a recent study. In total, these countries are home to a quarter of the Earth's population, while at least 50% of the world's population - some 4 billion people - under highly water-stressed conditions for at least one month of the year.
