The Council of Ministers approved on Wednesday a proposal for the development of a National Civil Protection Mechanism and the strengthening of the responsibilities of the Civil Defence Force. It also decided to transform the Civil Defence Force into a General Civil Protection Administration, Minister of the Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, said after the meeting of the Council of Ministers.
