Sievert Larsson Foundation Grants €20,000 in Scholarships, Empowering University of Cyprus Students

 

The provision of scholarships, totaling twenty thousand euros, aimed at financially supporting University of Cyprus students, is among the key elements of the Donation Agreement Renewal signed between the University of Cyprus and the Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation.

The scholarships, worth one thousand euros each, will be awarded to twenty undergraduate students at the University of Cyprus in accordance with specific criteria related to the academic performance and socio-economic background of the students, through the Student Welfare Association of the University of Cyprus. This important initiative aims to support students who face financial difficulties, so that they can continue and complete their studies unhindered, realizing their dreams and achieving their full potential.

This collaboration strengthens the efforts of the Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation and the University of Cyprus to promote educational opportunities and empower the student community. The signing ceremony of the Agreement took place on Thursday, October 29, 2025, at the University Campus, in Aglantzia. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the University of Cyprus by the Director of Administration and Finance, and Chairman of the Student Welfare Association, Mr. Menelaos Menelaou, while on behalf of the Foundation, by its General Director, Mr. Christos Papoutsas.

Mr. Menelaou thanked the Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation for its kind offer and support to the students at the University of Cyprus, which, as he mentioned, gives young people the opportunity to get closer to the realization of their goals and dreams, while being a reward for their remarkable academic performance.

The Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation was founded by the philanthropist Mr. Sievert Larsson, with the aim of financially supporting excellent, capable and promising students by offering them the opportunity to continue their education at the highest level.
