The swift response of the Greek government acted as a precursor of support from other EU member states, which formed a shield of solidarity in defence of Cyprus and its people, President Nikos Christodoulides said on Wednesday, thanking Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis for his immediate response to the request to enhance Cyprus’ defensive capacity as a precaution, through the deployment of fighter aircraft and frigates.
