In a major overhaul of its investment priorities, the European Union is reallocating €34.6 billion from its 2021–2027 cohesion policy funds toward critical sectors such as competitiveness, defence, energy security, and natural resource resilience. Within this framework, Cyprus is taking a targeted approach, directing €64 million to strengthen water resource management, responding to the specific environmental pressures it faces.
