The United Nations Secretary-General in his latest report on his mission of good offices in Cyprus calls on the leaders of the two communities to use the “current window of opportunity for making progress,” stressing that it “should not be taken for granted". Antonio Guterres says that the “intensification of dialogue” between the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders “remains positive,” but warns that several agreed trust-building initiatives remain unimplemented and that, without progress, “a lasting solution may continue to be elusive".
