A 50% drop was recorded in the number of bad cheques issued in July 2026 compared to the same month last year, as 16 checks of a total value of €40,799 that bounced were issued, compared to 30, according to data published on Wednesday by the Central Bank of Cyprus regarding entries in the preliminary list of the Central Information Register (CIR) for issuers of dishonoured cheques.
