The Cyprus issue is a European issue and its settlement is in the interest of the whole of Europe, says Hungary’s Ambassador to Cyprus Dr. Krisztina Lakos. In an interview with the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), the Ambassador says that Budapest remains committed to the “one Cyprus principle” based on the relevant UN resolutions and the EU’s fundamental principles. She says moreover that deeper diplomatic ties Hungary pursues with Central Asian countries through the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) do not indicate a position that is incompatible with international law over the Cyprus issue.
