Significant progress in Montenegro’s accession process to the European Union was recorded on Tuesday evening in Brussels, in the framework of the EU–Montenegro Intergovernmental Conference (IGC) and the closure of Chapter 21 on trans-European networks. According to statements after the meeting by Cyprus' Deputy Minister for European Affairs Marilena Raouna, this development constitutes another important step forward in Montenegro’s accession process, describing it as “a very significant achievement, and above all fully deserved for Montenegro.”
