Cyprus is in the final stretch toward the sustainable and commercial exploitation of its energy resources in its exclusive economic zone (EEZ), establishing the Eastern Mediterranean as a major energy hub while also contributing to the EU’s efforts to strengthen energy security through the diversification of sources and routes, said Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry Michael Damianos on Tuesday in remarks following the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting.
